The New England Mobile Book Fair in Newton is the latest to feel the pinch of increasing costs of real estate in the Boston area and decreasing revenue at independent bookstores.

After the Globe story Thursday that explained that owner Tom Lyons was hunting for a smaller space before the lease at their Newton location is up at the end of the month, readers cried out. Some remembered the good times they had there, some lamented the economic situation for small bookstores, and at least one other offered to help the store move.

Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley made a pitch that the store should move to his district, and he’ll help with the move.

On the Facebook page of the bookstore, others also chimed in to suggest their neighborhood as a possible location.
