How to publish a book

If you’re an author and do not own your own publishing house, you may enter an agreement with a licensed publisher to publish your book. Here are the steps to successfully publish a book:

1. The signing of a contract between the Author and the Publishing House.
2. Appoint a Publishing House and submit your written material for your book.
3. The Publishing House will arrange for the editing of the book and then begin with approvals.
4. A contract between the Author and the Publishing House is then notarized at the Courts in your Emirate.
5. The publisher will arrange for the Editing of the book.
6. The front and back cover of the book will be designed as well as formatting of the inside pages.
7. The Publisher will then apply for an ISBN from the Ministry of Culture and Development Knowledge.
8. The Publisher will apply for an approval to have the book published in the UAE.
9. The Publisher will apply to have the book printed.
10. The publisher will apply for permission from the National Media Council to distribute and sell the book on your behalf.
11. The publisher will organize for the distribution of your book through all channels including libraries and bookstores.
