Ali Bin Hatem


Ali Bin Hatem is the current President of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) in its sixth term. He was EPA’s Secretary during its fifth term, and a founding member. His professional roles include Chairman and Partner of Dar Thaqafa for Publishing and Distribution LLC, Oryx Publishing LLC and Dar AL Khalij Al Arabi for Commercial Publications. He is the Chairman and Partner in Smart Design, which specialises in event management and exhibition organising. He was a founding member of the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences - Head of GCC Regional Office. He was the former Director of Exhibitions and Events at the General Exhibitions Corporation.

Iman Ben Chaibah


Iman Ben Chaibah who is currently the Vice President of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA),hasreceived several prestigious awards in recognition of her efforts in the digital publishing. She received the UAE’s Young Digital Publisher, and the Young Entrepreneur Award from Startup Business magazine, as well as the Arab Woman Award in Literature.

Iman was chosen as a Delegate to the International Achievement Summit in San Francisco. She is also part of the UAE official delegations to different book fairs and publishing conferences across the globe such as London, Paris, Sao Paulo, New Delhi and Casa Blanca book fairs. Iman also works as a digital publishing consultant for several companies. She also continues to be part of discussion panels and give talks in entrepreneurship, literature and publishing in the Middle East, women in businessanddigital publishing.

Mohammed Bin Dakhin

Mohammed bin Dekhain is currently the Treasurer of the Emirates Publishers Association for the 2019-2021 term. He was Editor and then Editor-in-Chief of the Emirate Air Force Magazine from 1989-1992. Bin Dekhain held the post of Director of the Media Department at the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research and then Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al Saah daily newsletter, positions he held from 1992-97. He worked as a TV and radio coordinator in the Morale Guidance Directorate from 1997-1998 and was an accompanying journalist with His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and the Director of the UAE News Agency (WAM) from 1998-2005. Bin Dekhain was the Director of the Media Centre at University of Sharjah from 2005-2010 and then Director of the Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Labour from 2010-2013.

From 2010 to date, he holds the position of the Director of the Media and Communications Department at the Securities and Commodities Authority. Bin Dekhain’s honorary positions include Ambassador of Sharjah Government Communication Award, CEO of Happiness and Positivity at the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and programmer and presenter at Sharjah Radio and TV. Bin Dekhain’s is also a founding member of the UAE Journalist Association.

Dr. Alyazia Khalifa

Dr. Alyazia Khalif, the current General Secretary of the Emirates Publishers Association, is the Founder of Al Fulk Translation and Publishing, a publishing house dedicated to translating children’s and young adults’ literature. In 2013, she earned a PhD in Intercultural Broadcasting from the UK Kingston University London. In 2007, she became the first Emirati to be trained at Germany’s leading GEO magazine as part of the Cross-Cultural-Internship of the German Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (IFA). In 2016, Dr. Alyazia published the first children’s comic book ‘When the Air Thinks’, followed by her book ‘Shayarat Al Hamba’ in 2017. She wrote her third comic book ‘Whale in the Air-Condition’ in 2018 and is now working on a fiction novel for young adults.

Abdulla Al Kaabi


Abdullah Al Kaabi, who has been selected EPA’s board member, is the founder of Dragon Publishing and Distribution, which is dedicated to translating international and Chinese literature into Arabic. Al Kaabi launched Dragon with an aim to building a communication bridge with China's ancient civilisation, given that the Chinese culture includes a lot of uniqueness and abundance in content, and diversity in scientific, literary and philosophical publications and others.Al Kaabi holds a master’s degree in Innovation and Change Management and a bachelor’s degree in Total Quality Management from the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University. He co-founded Al Ramsa Institute, which is dedicated to teaching the Emirati dialect for non-Arabic speakers. Al Kaabi wrote several books, including ‘’The String of My Thoughts”, ‘The Story of the Blue Bag’, ‘The Story of a Drop of Life’ and ‘The Story of a Dream of the Past’. Al Kaabi translated the book ‘Emirati Ramsa’ into English, Korean, Italian and Chinese, and translated the book ‘Emirati Deeds’ into English.
