Rashid Al Kous named Executive Director of Emirates Publishers Association

Rashid Mohammed Al Kous, General-Manager of Knowledge without Borders (KwB) has been appointed Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) by the Association's Board Members chaired by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi.
The appointment is a step in the direction of the new board’s efforts to improve EPA’s overall performance and accountability, and to enable effective implementation of its vision and goals of establishing a thriving publishing sector in the UAE.
Al Kous’s career at KwB and 1,001 Titles required him to maintain a close relationship with hundreds of Emirati and Arab publishers. He has participated in dozens of publishing-related seminars and panel discussions locally and regionally. His learnings from his active participation at Arab and international book fairs will be instrumental in being successful in his new role.
In his new position as the Executive Director of EPA, Rashid Al Kous will participate in setting goals and drawing up strategic plans for the Association.
His duties will also include activating the implementation of EPA Board’s decisions and designing executive programmes that will enable EPA to reinforce its relations with its members and meet their needs. Al Kous will also work to enhance the publishing sector’s contribution to the UAE’s national economy.
